This PulseDrive pulse program is set up for Al99,5 (ER1050) class wires, 0.8 mm diameter, with I1 shielding gas. You get pulsed arc and double pulse, useful where the look of the weld face matters. It belongs to the Universal ARC line: it works with wires of this class from any manufacturer.
What it is for
The program holds synergic curves for this one combination of wire, diameter and gas. You change wire feed speed or plate thickness and the machine sets voltage and arc shape itself. Use it on aluminium, where stable wire feeding and a well-matched arc make a real difference. Al99.5 is a wire for commercially pure aluminium.

Will this program work on my machine?
Yes, if your model is on the list above. TERRA NX 320/400 SMC SteelDrive and TERRA NX 400/500 MSE are not listed for PulseDrive in the selection guide. When ordering, give the model and serial number of the machine the program is for. Installation, by our service or as a manufacturer update, is agreed after the order.
How does PulseDrive differ from ArcDrive?
ArcDrive means short and spray arc without pulse. PulseDrive gives pulsed arc and double pulse: less spatter and easier pool control. ArcDrive for this set-up: ArcDrive 0.8 mm, gas I1 (79.S1.114).
Does it suit wire from any manufacturer?
Yes, if the wire belongs to the Al99,5 (ER1050) class, which you can check on the spool label. If your wire is unusual, contact us before ordering.
