This PulseDrive pulse program is set up for Union AlMg5 wire, 1.2 mm diameter, with I1 shielding gas. Pulsed arc and double pulse make thin sheet and positional welds easier.
What it is for
A program is a set of synergic curves for one wire, one diameter and one gas: you set wire speed or material thickness and the machine selects voltage and arc shape. The program is meant for aluminium and its alloys. AlMg5 is used on aluminium-magnesium alloys. The 1.2 mm diameter suits medium and thicker plate, typical in fabrication work.

Which machine can run this program?
Any machine on the list above. TERRA NX 320/400 SMC SteelDrive and TERRA NX 400/500 MSE are not listed for PulseDrive in the selection guide. Give the machine model and serial number with your order so we can confirm compatibility with its software. Whether our service installs it or it comes as a manufacturer update is settled after the order.
How does PulseDrive differ from ArcDrive?
ArcDrive means short and spray arc without pulse. PulseDrive gives pulsed arc and double pulse: less spatter and easier pool control. ArcDrive for this set-up: ArcDrive 1.2 mm, gas I1 (79.S1.10899).
Can I use another ER5356 wire?
The curves are tuned to Union AlMg5. For other brands of the same class the price list offers the Universal ARC line, here: PulseDrive AlMg5 (ER5356) 1.2 mm, gas I1 (79.P1.108).
