The ST 2500 MP U/D is a liquid-cooled TIG torch, 8 m long, with a movable multi-position gas nozzle head and U/D buttons. You rotate the head to whatever direction the joint needs. The rating is 225 A DC and 160 A AC at 100% duty cycle, with small series 9/20 consumables.
What it is for
For vertical and overhead welding, which Böhler Welding names as the purpose of the MP series, on the TERRA NX 270 TLH, URANOS NX 2200 machines and URANOS NX 2700 MTE. The U/D buttons change the current without leaving the weld. The torch works with a cooling unit on the machine and CL10 coolant.

FAQ
How does MP differ from FX?
On the ST 2500 MP U/D you rotate the movable nozzle head into one of several positions. On the ST 2500 FX U/D 8 m you bend the flexible neck in any direction. Ratings and small series consumables are the same on both.
Do ST 3000 consumables fit the ST 2500 MP U/D?
No. The ST 2500 MP U/D uses small series 9/20 parts: collets from 0.5 to 3.2 mm, its own collet bodies, ceramic nozzles No. 4 to 10 and a long or medium back cap. Standard 17/18/26 parts have a separate compatibility list in the price list, without the ST 2500.
4 m or 8 m?
The 8 m length gives you reach when you weld away from the machine, for example on a large structure, without moving it. For bench work the ST 2500 MP U/D 4 m is enough.
