The EWM Phoenix 301 is a liquid cooled inverter MIG/MAG power source. The record gives 300 A at a 60% duty cycle and 250 A at a 100% duty cycle, and an interconnection cable of about 15 m comes with the set.
What this machine is for
This is a power source for welding mild steel and stainless steel with wire in a workshop and in a hall. Plan continuous work up to 250 A, because that is what the machine gives at a 100% duty cycle, and you have 300 A at a 60% duty cycle. On top of that comes the option of TIG welding and welding with covered electrodes, so one station covers several processes without a change of power source.
The machine has a synergic mode, pulse and double pulse. The synergic mode matches the voltage to the wire speed, and double pulse lays the cap in ripples as in TIG. The panel gives access to the full welding sequence, so you set the stages of the cycle one by one, from striking to crater filling.
The interconnection cable is about 15 m, so the power source stays in one place and you move with the feeder to the part, for example along a larger structure.
Features and equipment
- A synergic mode for matching the parameters to the material and the wire diameter.
- Pulse and double pulse for thin sheet and for a neat cap.
- The full welding sequence in the panel settings.
- The option of TIG and MMA welding.
- Liquid cooling, with a water cooled torch.
- An interconnection cable of about 15 m between the power source and the feeder.

- supply cable about 3 m
- interconnection cable about 15 m
What to watch out for
The supply is 400 V from a three phase socket. Cooling works on liquid, so before the first weld check the fluid level, the flow and the tightness of the quick couplings. The MIG torch is 4 m and rated 500 A, that is with a reserve over what the power source can do. The record gives no weight and no dimensions for the set, so arrange transport before collection.
How we sell used machines
This unit was checked in our service workshop in Krotoszyn with measurements to PN-EN 60974-4 and a load test. The price includes the first year of the basic service package: an inspection with cleaning of the machine and a validation measurement. Further years can be added. We ship across the European Union, collection in person by appointment.
