Ideal MAX-TIG 232 AC/DC Digital is a portable inverter welder built on MOSFET technology for TIG and TIG Pulse welding on alternating (AC) and direct (DC) current, and for MMA welding with a coated electrode on direct current. On AC you weld aluminium, its alloys and brass, and on DC you weld stainless steel, carbon and low-alloy steels, copper and titanium. It runs on a single-phase 230 V supply. This set also includes a CO2/Ar regulator with flowmeter, part number 265400.

Features
TIG AC, TIG DC and pulse modes
You can choose from five modes: TIG DC, TIG DC Pulse, TIG AC, TIG AC Pulse and MMA. The pulse settings let you influence the weld shape and how focused the arc is. Pulse also reduces the heat going into the material, which helps with thin parts.
HF or LIFT ignition, 2T and 4T operation
You strike the arc without contact (HF) or by contact (LIFT). Choose LIFT where electromagnetic interference could affect the surroundings. In both modes the torch trigger works in 2T or 4T, and 4T latches the trigger for long welds.
Digital display and parameter control
You set the parameters with potentiometers and read them on the digital display. You adjust start current, main current and base current, current fall time, gas post-flow, pulse duration and frequency, and AC frequency and balance.
ARC FORCE, HOT START and ANTI STICK
In MMA mode you set ARC FORCE and HOT START manually. ARC FORCE adjusts the short-circuit current. It helps molten droplets pass from the electrode into the workpiece and keeps the arc from going out when a droplet touches the weld pool. HOT START gives a higher current at each ignition, so the electrode strikes more easily. ANTI STICK switches off the voltage when the electrode sticks to the workpiece, so you can pull it free easily and no accidental arc forms.
Construction
A fan cools the inside, and a protection circuit guards the machine against overload. The gas quick coupler lets you connect and disconnect the TIG torch without tools. The housing has a socket for a remote control.
