MT 440 W U/D is a liquid-cooled Böhler Welding MIG/MAG torch with a 3 m cable assembly and Euro connector, with Up/Down buttons on the handle. It takes 0.8 to 1.6 mm wire and is rated 450 A with Ar/CO2 mixed gas and 500 A with CO2 at 100% duty cycle. It is the same model as the 4 m version (81.05.040) with a shorter cable assembly.
What it is for
Choose this version when you work close to the machine or wire feeder and want to change settings from the handle. The shorter cable leaves less slack at the workstation, and the rating is the same as on the 4 m version.
The torch needs a cooling unit with coolant. Consumables are shared with the 4 m version, only the liner length differs (3 m).

What are the U/D buttons for?
These are Up/Down buttons on the handle. You use them to change the welding settings from the torch without leaving the joint.
Which liner for the 3 m version?
A 3 m liner, for example steel 1.0 to 1.2 mm or a carbon PTFE liner for aluminium in the same length.
