MT 440 W U/D is a liquid-cooled Böhler Welding MIG/MAG torch with a 4 m cable assembly and Euro connector, with Up/Down buttons on the handle. It takes 0.8 to 1.6 mm wire and is rated 450 A with Ar/CO2 mixed gas and 500 A with CO2 at 100% duty cycle. Böhler uses it in the liquid-cooled configurations of TERRA NX PMC, PME and DualFeeder and URANOS NX MTE, PMC and GSM (price list 2026/27).
What it is for
You order it as a replacement in a ready-made liquid-cooled set or as a second torch with another liner, for example for aluminium.
The torch needs a cooling unit with coolant; matching cooling units are listed below. If you work close to the machine, the 3 m version (81.05.039) is enough. If you need more rating than 450 and 500 A, choose MT 540 W U/D.

What are the U/D buttons for?
These are Up/Down buttons on the handle. You use them to change the welding settings from the torch without leaving the joint.
Does it fit URANOS NX 2200 and 2700?
Yes. The Böhler 2026/27 price list includes MT 440 W U/D 4 m in the liquid-cooled URANOS NX 2200 and 2700 configurations (MTE and PMC) with the WU 232 cooling unit.
