Description

About this machine

The Migatronic Flex 330 is an inverter MIG/MAG welder for a 400 V supply, with gas cooling. The source gives 330 A at a 60% duty cycle and 250 A under a continuous load of 100%. The machine works with pulse and synergy and has a full welding sequence.

What this machine is for

At 250 A the machine welds without a break, and the peak of 330 A at a 60% duty cycle is left for thicker fillet welds and multi run joints in structural steel. Gas cooling makes the station simpler, because there is no fluid circuit, no pump and no cooler to watch.

Synergy matches the voltage to the speed of the wire feed once you point to the material, the gas and the diameter, and the programs for welding different metals give you ready settings for steel, acid resistant steel and aluminium. Pulse portions out the heat and tears off the drops one by one, so you have less spatter. A full welding sequence is a setting for the whole cycle: start current, slope up, slope down and crater filling.

Features and equipment

  • Inverter source for 330 A at a 60% duty cycle and 250 A in continuous work at 100%.
  • Pulse and synergy: you take the settings from a program, and pulse limits the heat in the part.
  • Programs for welding different metals: you pick the settings from a list instead of working the parameters out.
  • Full welding sequence: slope up, slope down and crater filling.
  • Gas cooling: no fluid circuit, fewer parts to service.

What to watch out for

The supply is a 400 V mains and a three phase circuit, and the size of the fuse you settle with an electrician. With gas cooling the torch heats up more than a torch on fluid, so on long runs close to 330 A take breaks, or the gas nozzle and the contact tip will go faster. The record does not list a torch or cables, so confirm what the set holds before collection. It gives no weight and no dimensions either.
