Fitting and replacing the Guardian Air pre-filter
Open the filter cover by pulling it outward from the right side of the unit; the manual forbids using tools for this. Pull off the old pre-filter and stretch the new one into place so that it completely covers the main filter media. Then fit the spark arrestor and close the cover until it snaps into place.
The Guardian Air manual says to check or replace the pre-filter as soon as the alarm sounds; in very dusty areas this may be needed often. With low airflow, change the pre-filter first and the main filter if that does not help.
