What it is for
The gas lens gives a laminar gas flow, so you can extend the electrode further out of the nozzle. The standard collet body takes standard nozzles. No. 6 means 6/16 in, the manufacturer gives 9.8 mm. Replace the nozzle when it is cracked or chipped.

The gas lens collet body from the 17/18/26 range: 1.0, 1.6, 2.4, 3.2 and 4.0 mm.
Does it fit the ST 2500 torch?
No. The ST 2500 uses 9/20 consumables; there the no. 6 gas lens nozzle is 82.10.370.
