The ST 3000 U/D is a liquid-cooled TIG torch, 8 m long, with U/D buttons for current control from the handle. At 100% duty cycle it carries 280 A DC and 220 A AC and takes electrodes from 0.5 to 4.0 mm. It is the same torch Böhler supplies in the liquid-cooled TERRA NX TLH and URANOS NX packages, here in the 8 m length.
Who it is for
For welders who weld long runs and do not want to stop for the torch to cool: at 100% duty cycle it works continuously up to 280 A DC, and up to 220 A AC on URANOS NX AC/DC machines. It needs a cooling unit on the machine and CL10 coolant.

How does the ST 3000 U/D differ from the FX U/D and MP U/D versions?
The ST 3000 U/D has the highest rating in the ST 3000 family: 280 A DC and 220 A AC at 100%. The ST 3000 FX U/D 8 m (flexible neck) and ST 3000 MP U/D 8 m (movable nozzle head) carry 250 A DC and 175 A AC. Consumables are shared.
4 m or 8 m?
The 8 m length gives you reach when you weld away from the machine, for example on a large structure, without moving it. For bench work the ST 3000 U/D 4 m is enough.
