Who it is for
For welders who want a helmet that stands out in the workshop with the specification of the proven Guardian 62. The manufacturer recommends this model mainly for MAG and TIG welding and approves the filter for TIG above 5 A. The manual also lists MIG/MAG, stick welding (MMA), TIG on inverter power sources, AC/DC pulse welding and work under argon and helium shielding. Between welds you can grind in the filter's grind mode. The operating temperature range is -5 to +55 °C.

Frequently asked questions
How does the Rockstar differ from the standard Guardian 62?
In the look of the shell. The filter, shell and technical data are the same as on the Guardian 62 (Böhler Welding Guardian 62 auto-darkening welding helmet), so you choose between them by the graphics only. If you grind a lot, consider the Guardian 62F (Böhler Welding Guardian 62F auto-darkening flip-up welding helmet): for the extra cost you get the same filter on a flip-up front and a clear grinding visor underneath.
Do Guardian 62 parts fit the Rockstar version?
Yes. Front cover lenses 32423 and 87151, inner lens 32433, filter 63635, headgear 32406 and sweatbands 32416 are the same numbers as for the Guardian 62.
Is it suitable for TIG at low current?
The manufacturer states TIG above 5 A for the Guardian 62 filter. With a weak arc, increase the sensitivity and check that the sensors are clean and facing the arc.
How do I switch on grind mode?
With the switch on the outside of the shell: it has three positions, shade 9 to 13, shade 5 to 9 and grind mode, in which the filter does not darken.
Where is the on/off switch?
There is none. The filter shuts off by itself after 15 minutes without use, and you change the CR2450 battery after removing the cover on the inside of the grind switch.
