Product description

The Evolution Vision 65FM welding helmet selects the shade by itself: in AUTO mode the filter reads the intensity of the arc, and you can correct the selected shade by 2 up or down. The ADF on the flip-up front has a 65 x 96 mm viewing area, dark shades 4 to 8 and 9 to 14 and a UHD display rated 1/1/1/1 to EN 379, with a 180 x 90 mm grinding visor underneath. The shell is impact and heat resistant nylon in matt blue.

Who it is for

  • Welders who often change current or process and do not want to reset the filter by hand each time: AUTO mode does it, and you can return to manual setting at any time.
  • Mixed work with grinding: lift the flip-up and work through the clear 180 x 90 mm visor.
  • MIG/MAG, stick welding (MMA), TIG on inverter power sources, AC/DC pulse welding, work under argon and helium shielding: this is the application list from the instruction manual.
  • Long shifts: the headgear has 4 balancing straps that improve the balance of the helmet over a full working day.

What makes the Evolution Vision 65FM welding helmet different

  • AUTO mode: the filter sets the shade to the arc intensity, with an individual correction of 2 shades up or down.
  • Three modes on the MODE button: AUTO, WELD (shade 9 to 14) and CUT (shade 4 to 8).

  • 65 x 96 mm ADF viewing area and a 180 x 90 mm grinding visor under the flip-up.
  • Delay in 6 steps from 0.1 to 0.85 s and sensitivity in 6 steps, buttons on the underside of the cartridge.

Frequently asked questions

How does AUTO mode work?

The filter selects the shade according to the arc intensity. If the image is too bright or too dark for you, the SHADE button moves the setting by up to 2 shades. With the MODE button you can switch to manual WELD or CUT mode at any time.

How does the 65FM differ from the 65F?

Compared with the less expensive 65F (Böhler Welding Evolution Vision 65F auto-darkening flip-up welding helmet), you pay extra for AUTO mode, which sets the shade to the arc by itself, and for the matt shell; the 65F is set manually and has a glossy shell. The 65 x 96 mm viewing area, 180 x 90 mm grinding visor and 1/1/1/1 rating are the same. The spare filter and flip-up element also differ.

How do I change the inner lens or the battery?

Lift the flip-up, rest the helmet chin up, slide the two cartridge tabs to the middle and pull the filter out. Remove the lens with the plunger tool; the CR2450 battery is under the battery cover, which slides upwards.

Is it suitable for gas or laser welding?

No. The manual excludes laser welding and oxy-acetylene welding. For gas welding there are the Eyewear IR5 glasses (Böhler Welding Eyewear IR5 gas welding glasses), for laser the Laser Guard helmet (Böhler Welding Laser Guard helmet for laser and hybrid welding).

Is there a version with air supply?

Yes, the Evolution Vision 65FM Air Kit (Böhler Welding Evolution Vision 65FM Air Kit, auto-shade welding helmet with Evolution Air PAPR): 65FM Air helmet with the Evolution Air system in an Evolution bag.
