PP Plus 401 D is a liquid-cooled Böhler Welding push-pull torch with a 4 m cable assembly, 45° neck and Euro connector. It has its own wire drive with a replaceable drive roll in the torch, takes 0.8 to 1.6 mm wire and is rated 350 A with Ar/CO2 mixed gas and 400 A with CO2 at 100% duty cycle.
What it is for
In a push-pull system the wire feeder pushes the wire from the spool side while the drive in the torch pulls it. This setup is used for soft wires such as aluminium and for longer cable assemblies. For aluminium there are M8 tips for Al wire and graphite liners for this torch.
When ordering, pick the drive roll for your wire size and check that the machine has a cooling unit with coolant.

Do I need the push-pull kit?
The Böhler 2026/27 price list shows the push-pull kit 73.11.012 in the accessories of every machine that lists this torch. If your wire feeder does not have the kit yet, order it together with the torch; if in doubt, ask us before ordering.
Which drive roll should I choose?
The roll that matches your wire diameter: 0.8, 0.9, 1.0, 1.2 or 1.6 mm. Each roll is a separate item.
4 m or 8 m?
The data are the same. The 8 m version (81.01.145) gives more reach from the machine or wire feeder. The PP Plus 401 D liners in the price list are 4 m long, so they match this version.
