Used water-cooled MIG/MAG welders

The list shows used MIG/MAG machines with a liquid cooler, so equipment for long welds and higher currents, where a gas cooled torch will not last a shift. For every unit we state the rated current, the supply, the feeder type and whether the cooler is built in or stands as a separate module. The set usually holds a liquid cooled torch, an earth lead and a trolley, and the description says what exactly comes with that unit and what we replaced in the service workshop. For mild and stainless steel; for aluminium check in the description whether the machine has pulse and a suitable feeder.

Used MIG/MAG welders: how to choose

With MIG/MAG, first work out how thick the material is and how long you weld at a stretch. For sheet from 1 to 5 mm and occasional work, a 200 to 250 A unit with a four-roller feeder on 230 V is enough. For structures from 8 to 20 mm and continuous work you need 350 to 500 A on 400 V, water-cooled and with a separate feeder on a trolley.

The duty cycle is the most common source of disappointment. A 250 A machine at 60 percent will hold the current for 6 minutes out of 10, the same figure at 25 percent only for 2.5 minutes. For production look for 60 percent and more at your working current.

The second threshold is the way the torch is cooled. A gas-cooled torch up to 250 A is cheaper and lighter, but it heats up on long beads. A water-cooled torch works calmly up to 400 A and above, at the cost of a cooler and coolant.

Check the feed rollers: a V groove for solid wire 0.8 and 1.0 mm, a knurled groove for flux-cored wire, U rollers and a PTFE liner for aluminium. A steel liner with aluminium means the wire will jam.

If the machine is to run self-shielded flux-cored wire, make sure it has a polarity switch. In our listings we state what a machine has and what it does not. We name anything that is missing openly, together with the price of adding it.

Does a used welder come with a warranty?
We do not give a commercial warranty on used machines. The price includes the first year of the basic service package, that is an inspection: cleaning of the machine and a validation measurement. Further years can be added, and repairs then cost less.
How do you check the machines?
Every unit goes through a load test and measurements to current standards in our service workshop in Krotoszyn. You receive the inspection report with the extended service package.
Can I see the machine before buying?
Yes. Book a viewing in Krotoszyn and we will show you the machine under load.
How much does shipping cost?
In Poland the DPD courier costs EUR 6.98 net for each started parcel up to 25 kg, and machines travel on a pallet for EUR 69.77 net. Goods in stock ship within 2 working days, machines within 2 to 3 working days. We also ship to the whole European Union.
VAT invoice, intra-EU supply, currency?
We issue a VAT invoice. Companies from the EU with an active EU VAT number buy at 0 percent VAT. Prices in the English version are in euro, converted at a fixed rate of 4.30 zloty per euro.
