Who it is for

The Böhler Welding Safe Vision Air safety helmet with grinding visor for PAPR powered air systems is the same helmet with grinding visor and SNR 34 ear defenders but without a welding filter: enough for grinding and cutting. With the Safe Guard 62F Air you pay for the flip-up Safe Guard 62 ADF (shades 5-8 and 9-13, 4 arc sensors, class V1). If you do not have to wear a safety helmet at your workstation, choose the Böhler Welding Guardian 62F Air flip-up welding helmet for PAPR powered air systems with the flip-up Guardian 62 filter.

Frequently asked questions
Can I weld with the filter raised?
No. The manual states that your eyes are protected against welding radiation only while the flip-up with the filter is lowered and covers the field of view. The grinding visor alone does not protect against arc light.
Can I use the helmet without the air supply?
No. The Safe Guard 62F Air manual warns that with the unit switched off little or no respiratory protection remains, and carbon dioxide builds up quickly while oxygen drops under the visor.
How long can the helmet be used?
Up to 5 years; the date of manufacture (quarter and year) is moulded into the shell. Replace the helmet after a severe impact, even if no damage is visible.
Is it suitable for laser welding or laser cutting?
No. The manual excludes laser welding and cutting as well as oxy-acetylene gas welding. For laser welding choose the Böhler Welding Laser Guard Air laser and hybrid welding helmet for PAPR powered air systems with protection to EN 207.
Which inner lens should I buy?
The Safe Guard 62 filter takes the inner lens Böhler Welding inner lens Safe Guard 62F Air (5 pcs) (5 pcs) and, at the front, the front cover lens Böhler Welding front cover lens Safe Guard 62F Air (10 pcs) (10 pcs). The ADF may only be used with both lenses fitted.
