The Evolution V80M Air Kit is the version with AUTO mode: the ADF of the Evolution V80M Air helmet selects the shade by itself and adds a TACK mode and a shade lock. The Evolution Bag 2.0 also holds the Evolution Air PAPR. Viewing area 124 x 80 mm, light state DIN 2.5, shade ranges DIN 4-8 and 9-14 in 0.5 steps, optical class V1 to ISO 16321-2, 180-240 l/min of air in class TH3 to EN 12941 and a 7800 mAh battery that charges in 3 h.

Who it is for
- Tacking and series of short welds: TACK mode keeps the filter half-dark between the tacks.
- Different currents in one shift: AUTO mode selects the shade without you reaching for the buttons.
- A large view: 124 x 80 mm at high welding speeds and in different positions.
- Gases and vapours: with A1B1E1 P R SL filters class TH3 stays unchanged.
Laser and gas welding (acetylene) are outside the scope of this helmet. Under the Evolution Air manual, work is not allowed in unventilated tanks, pipes and ducts, with oxygen under 19.5 %, in explosive atmospheres or in strong wind.

Frequently asked questions
What is TACK mode for?
When tacking, the filter does not return to the light state between tacks but stays half-dark, lighter than the set shade. When you stop welding, it switches to the light state after 2 s. The manual names this function, the 2-step delay and the fade delay as ways to reduce eye fatigue.
V80M Air Kit or V80 Air Kit, or perhaps the 65FM Air Kit?
Compared with the Böhler Welding Evolution V80 Air Kit, welding helmet with Evolution Air PAPR you pay extra for AUTO mode, TACK and the shade lock; the blower unit and viewing area are the same. The Böhler Welding Evolution Vision 65FM Air Kit, auto-shade welding helmet with Evolution Air PAPR also selects the shade itself and has a 180 x 90 mm grinding visor under a flip-up filter, but a 65 x 96 mm viewing area instead of 124 x 80 mm.
Is the V80M Air suitable for grinding?
Yes. The GRIND button on the side of the helmet switches the filter to grind mode without taking the helmet off. The same helmet is used for MIG, TIG, MMA and plasma cutting; you only change the shade range.
Does Guardian Air work with the V80M Air?
Choose Evolution Air. The manufacturer documents list certification for the V80 Air and V80M Air only with this unit (TH3 with P R SL and A1B1E1 P R SL filters). The unit on its own is available as Böhler Welding Evolution Air PAPR blower unit, complete kit with filters, the helmet on its own as Böhler Welding Evolution V80M Air auto-shade welding helmet for the Evolution Air PAPR system.
