The UHD display has a 65 x 96 mm viewing area and optical class 1/1/1/1 to EN 379, with a 180 x 90 mm grinding visor under the filter. You buy the helmet only, without a unit: connect Evolution Air, Guardian Air or Supplied Air.

Who it is for
For welders who often change current or process and do not want to reset the shade every time, while breathing filtered air for the whole shift. The Evolution Vision 65 manual lists MIG/MAG, TIG with inverters, MMA, argon and helium shielded welding and AC/DC pulse welding. You can return to manual setting at any time, and with the filter raised you grind without disconnecting the air supply.

The shell is marked EN 175 B, the ADF CE 3/4-8/9-14 to EN 379 in class 1/1/1/1, the cover lenses EN 166 1 B, in line with Regulation (EU) 2016/425. With Evolution Air the system meets EN 12941 class TH3 P R SL, with Supplied Air EN 14594:2018 class 4A. Only the lowered filter protects your eyes against the arc.

How does auto-shade work?
The Evolution Vision 65FM filter measures the intensity of the struck arc and sets the shade itself. You correct the result by 2 shades up or down, and you can switch to manual WELD or CUT at any time with the MODE button.
How does it differ from the Evolution Vision 65F Air and the Air Kit?
The Böhler Welding Evolution Vision 65F Air flip-up welding helmet for PAPR powered air systems has a manually set filter and a glossy shell; with the 65FM Air you pay for auto-shade and a matt shell, while the 65 x 96 mm display and grinding visor are the same. The Böhler Welding Evolution Vision 65FM auto-darkening helmet with auto-shade is the same helmet without air supply. Can I weld with the filter raised?
No. The Evolution Vision 65 manual states that your eyes are protected against arc radiation only with the filter lowered. The visor under the filter is for grinding.
Does the helmet work without a blower unit?
Do not use it that way. The Evolution Air and Guardian Air manuals warn that without air supply carbon dioxide builds up quickly under a sealed helmet and oxygen drops.
Is it suitable for laser or gas welding?
No. The manual excludes laser welding and oxy-acetylene welding. For laser work the manufacturer offers the Laser Guard Air.
